Posted: August 22, 2005
The University of Houston Department of History begins the academic year and continues its tradition of bringing noted speakers to campus by co-sponsoring two intriguing lectures in September 2005.
On Friday, September 16, (time and place TBA), the History Department will co-sponsor a lecture by Lawrence Lessig, Professor of Law at Stanford and one of the country's leading authorities on intellectual property law. His talk is tentatively titled, "Cyberlaw: Helping, Not Hindering, Creativity."
On Thursday, September 22, in the Cullen Performance Hall (time to be determined), Dolores Huerta, co-founder of the United Farm Workers with Cesar Chavez, will speak to the UH community about her experiences.
