UH History to Sponsor Computer Workshop and Talk by Noted Scholar

Dr. Steven Mintz, Moores Professor of History, will lead a workshop for UH graduate students (and interested faculty) on teaching history with technology. The workshop will be held on Saturday, September 24 in 216 AH from 9-11am. ALL graduate students are invited and encouraged to attend. Please confirm your participation with an email to Phil Sinitiere (sinitiere@sbcglobal.net) by Wednesday, September 21.

The UH History Department and Latin American Studies program are among the sponsors of a visit by noted comparative literature/American Studies scholar Djelal Kadir of Penn State. Prof. Kadir will be giving a talk entitled "A World Become One: Americanisms in an Age of Absolutes" at a luncheon talk at noon on Oct. 12 at the UH Hilton. After the talk there will be an informal discussion about insittutional approaches to the study of American cultures. If you would like to attend, please RSV to Lois Zamora at lzamora@uh.edu.
