UH Professor Walther Wins Book Prize

Professor Eric H. Walther has received the Jefferson Davis Award for the best book published in 2006 covering the Confederate experience, for his book William Lowndes Yancey and the Coming of the Civil War (University of North Carolina Press). An award ceremony will take place in Richmond, Virginia, on June 2, 2007. Previous recepients include Frank Vandiver, David H. Donald, Drew G. Faust, Bertram Wyatt-Brown, William J. Cooper, Jr., William W. Freehling, and former University of Houston historian Joseph Glatthaar.
