Economic Crisis

US pays for exports from Europe or Japan with cheap [inflated] dollars but Europe and Japan pay for imports from US with dear [fixed] dollars

If gold goes to $40 an ounce–European dollars would be worth 1/7 less–would need 40, not 35, dollars to get an ounce of gold in return.

Example
£1=$2.80

[£12.5]   $35   :      $1=.028 oz of gold =   £.35
[£14.2]   $40   :      $1=.025 oz of gold=    £.295
