Chosen as a surprise first round selection by the Monk-Boys, Mitchell's 1995 numbers warranted the selection. He threw 32 touchdown passes for the Detroit Lions (third highest in the NFL) and threw only 12 interceptions. Plus he is big and strong ( 6' 6", 230 lbs.) and thus likely to stay healthy.
